Minnesota – LGBT activists packed the Anoka-Hennepin school district board meeting last night to protest the board’s “neutral policy” on LGBT bullying and education. Over 24 people spoke out against a school board which has seen 9 student suicides in the past few years and done nothing. The Anoka-Hennepin school board has come under a lot [...]

Utah – What a night for LGBT human rights in Utah! At virtually the same time the Midvale city council was unanimously passing non-discrimination laws, the Park City School Board was passing fully inclusive anti-discrimination and anti-bullying policies that went further than SLC! In Midvale, the city council (led by Mayor JoAnn Seghini) unanimously passed [...]

WTF!! A North Carolina school board, taken over by Tea Party activists this past election, has just abolished a policy which bussed in minority students from poor areas of Wake County into nicer school districts. The NAACP has already filed a lawsuit and other officials have resigned over the decision. Welcome back to Separate But Equal [...]

This is pretty horrific. A man upset about taxes and his wife losing her job spray painted a “V” on a whiteboard then started shooting at the school board members. WARNING: The video below is graphic.

Salt Lake City, Utah – The Salt Lake School Board is meeting tonight to take action on 2 different items, anti-bullying policies and non-discrimination for teachers. While they aim to protect children, the board may be switching to non-inclusive policies for teachers. The good and the bad. The school board is set to vote on a [...]

Eastlake, OH – Back in October, PRIDEinUtah posted a video of North High School fans chanting “Powder Blue Faggots” at an opposing team. Now the school district is giving the cold-shoulder to calls to add sexual orientation to their discrimination policies. Seems pretty obvious the teachers, administrators and the Willoughby Eastlake School Board are all [...]

ROFLMQAO! This is the greatest thing I’ve seen in a long time! George Takei sets phasers on “pwnd” as he sends a personal video message to “All Fags Should Get AIDS and Die” ex-school board member Clint McCance. I love you George!! (Via Joe.My.God)

Salt Lake City, UT – Apparently the only candidate for SLC School Board Precinct 6 is Laurel Heath Young. While she’s ok with adding sexual orientation to anti-bullying laws, she opposes protections based on gender identity. Write in Misty Fowler! While Ms. Young will of course win, let’s send her a loud and clear message [...]

St. George – Many candidates, both incumbent and challengers, for Washington County School Board are targeting newly formed Gay Straight Alliances in high schools. Calling them evil and sinful, they want them destroyed at any cost. Tipped by PRIDEinUtah reader Katie P Pathetic, for the first time LGBT kids have a place to go in [...]
