Video – Hillary Clinton bashes gay marriage

Australia – At a question and answer with youth in Australia, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was asked about same-sex marriage and whether or not she supports it. Her answer? Uh…. no. Watch the video below.
In one breath she says she says she wants to end discrimination, but in the next says she only supports civil unions or contractual relations. Sad… very sad. Still think we would have had anything different if we’d voted in Hillary?
The gay marriage question is at 2:30

"Eric, trying to have this (civil rights) conversation with you is ultimately like trying to teach a pig to dance, it just annoys the pig. So Eric, sorry to annoy you."

I thought civil union and marriage were more or less the same thing? I’m confused. How can she support one but not the other?
Not the same thing. Civil Unions allows for SOME of the same rights, but not all. It also still places same sex marriages at a lesser-social value level than heterosexuals who can get married.
