Hawaii Passes Civil Union Bill

Hawaii – The State Legislature has passed a controversial bill which will allow same-sex couples the rights to Civil Unions!
In a close vote of 31-20, the bill has now gone to the Governor for signing. This is a great step for Hawaii, who is still suffering from the bigoted anti-equal marriage law which passed several years ago with help from the Mormon (LDS) church.
Republican governor Linda Lingle has so far given no indication as to whether she will sign it.
The bill easily passed the legislature last year but stalled when Democrats feared they would not have enough votes to override a governor veto.
