McDonalds Employee Fired Over Transgender Attack

Baltimore, Maryland – After the absolutely horrific video of a transgender woman being beaten and attacked at a McDonald’s franchise went viral, the franchise owner has announced that the employee who filmed the incident has been fired, and “actions” are pending against several other employees. Sound like enough to you?
If hate crime charges aren’t filed immediately against both the attackers and the McDonald’s employees, I will be furious. Remember that you can sign the Change.org petition here.
The two attacking women have been arrested, and one (who is 14) will be tried as a juvenile. However the District Attorney’s office has yet to say whether or not they will be filing Hate Crime charges.
The victim was taken to the hospital in reportedly “fair” condition, no further updates about her condition are available yet.
My first and foremost concern is with the victim,” franchise owner Mitchell McPherson said in a statement, adding that action might be taken against other restaurant workers as well. “I’m as shocked and disturbed by this assault as anyone would be. The behavior displayed in the video is unfathomable and reprehensible.”
